Meet Our 2016 Commencement Speaker: Cecilia Mata
July 25, 2016 | West Now Home
We are pleased to announce the selection of Cecilia Mata, founder and president of defense-related company AllSource Global Management LLC (AGM), as our 2016 West Commencement speaker. Cecilia was born and raised in the Republic of Panama, where she gained over 20 years of experience in business, contracting, consulting, and manufacturing. She traveled extensively, conducting business throughout Europe, Central and South America prior to relocating to the United States in the year 2000.
Cecilia founded AGM in 2005, and over the past 10 years has taken the company from a singular focus supporting the warfighter in the global war on terrorism to a comprehensive enterprise offering diverse products and services to a host of other organizations both public and private.
Cecilia’s entrepreneurial spirit and steadfast devotion to AGM’s success has led to the creation and expansion of two subsidiary companies. The first came in 2010 when Cecilia formed Global Eagle Security, LLC (GES), a joint venture specializing in armed and unarmed security services. The second came in 2016 when she assumed full ownership and control of BrockTek, LLC, an engineering design and manufacturing company in the aerospace industry. This diversification has enhanced AGM’s core competencies and capabilities.
AGM’s stellar performance and growth is not only the result of Cecilia’s business acumen, but is also attributed to the organizational culture and quality of her employees. She attributes much of her success to her employees, placing the credit for her accomplishments squarely upon their shoulders. She considers them to be her most treasured assets and empowers them at the highest level to satisfy her customer’s needs and expectations.
In addition to her diverse business interests, Cecilia is also involved in a number of other civic and philanthropic activities. She is an enthusiastic advocate for small business development and women-owned small businesses. She is also an advocate for animals and animal rights and has funded many projects around the globe.
Cecilia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Universidad Santa Maria la Antigua and a Master in Business Administration from the Universidad Latinamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología.
