General Education Requirements

GENERAL EDUCATION CORE REQUIREMENTS – 42 CREDITS

General Education courses provide foundational knowledge for each undergraduate degree. Associate and bachelor degrees require 42 General Education Core credits (14 courses; all courses are 3 credits).

UNDERGRADUATE ELECTIVE REQUIREMENTS – 18 CREDITS

Bachelor degrees also require 18 undergraduate elective credits (6 courses). Elective credits allow bachelor degree students to pursue a variety of topics of interest or fulfill course prerequisites for their Major Requirements through undergraduate elective courses.

TOTAL GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Associate degrees: 42 credits
Bachelor degrees: 60 credits

Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) – 18 Credits

A portion of all bachelor degrees at Western International University® is comprised of Common Body of Knowledge courses (6 courses; 18 credits), which represent the fundamental competencies necessary for effective performance in business environments.

Bachelor Degree Requirements

Bachelor degree core requirements for each discipline will enable students to think critically and analytically to attain personal and professional development and success. The dual intent of the core is to provide foundational value and relevancy across programs and as they apply to the workplace. The program or major chosen will determine the core requirements that provide focus for each degree.
